BOKOD, Benguet – A 49-year old farmer was hurt after he was hacked with the use of a jungle bolo by his 47-year old companion during a drinking session at sitio Kamangaan, barangay Tickey her Sunday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Luciano Bested Cleto, 49, married, farmer while he named the suspect as Gegerardo Kitan Samson, 47, married, also a farmer and both residents of Kamangaan, Tickey, Bokod, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had a drinking session which suddenly resulted to a heated altercation for still unknown reasons.
At this juncture, the suspect allegedly suddenly hacked the victim with the use of a jungle bolo.
Concerned residents rushed the victim to the Dennis Molintas Memorial Hospital for medical treatment while responding police operatives were able to arrest the suspect who is now detained at the Bokod Municipal Police Station for the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
