KAPANGAN, Benguet – A 40-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked by a fellow farmer during a wake at Alapang, Labueg, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as Alexander Sabaoan Etrata, 40, single, farmer, while the suspect was named as Santiago Cagas Wankey, 60, single, farmer, both resident of Alapang, Labueg, Kapangan, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were attending a wake in the place of incident when a heated altercation erupted between them.
After a few moments, the suspect allegedly hacked the victim on the different parts of his body with the use of a bolo that caused him to suffer from multiple hack wounds.
The victim was rushed to the Kapangan district hospital for medical treatment for the hack wounds that he sustained but he was referred to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for further medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by combined police operatives in the place of incident.
