PILAR, Abra – A 30-year old farmer died after he allegedly hanged himself inside their residence at San Juan East here Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the alleged suicide victim as Mark Anthony Dumlao Dasalla, 30, married, farmer, and a resident of barangay San Juan East, Pilar, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was allegedly under the influence of liquor the whole Saturday that resulted in an alleged quarrel with his wife who is an Overseas Filipino Worker OFW).
A few hours later, his cousin Anjun Dasalla Baltar saw the victim hanging inside his house that caused him to seek the assistance of police operatives and concerned neighbors.
He was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians while the said case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain whether or not there was a foul play in the untimely demise of the farmer.
