PUDTOL, Apayao – A 29-year old farmer was injured after he was hacked by a suspected drug pusher when he refused to buy the alleged illegal drugs being sold by the latter while butchering a pig at Upper Maton, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Ronel Barad Belan, 29, single, farmer while he named the suspect as a certain Jessel Gubsi of legal age and both residents of Upper Maton, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was butchering a pig in their residence when the suspect arrived and asked him to buy the shabu that was in his possession.
However, the victim informed the suspect that he already stopped using alleged illegal drugs and that he already voluntarily surrendered to the police, thus, he will no longer buy the suspected shabu.
At this juncture, the suspect grabbed a bolo and hacked the victim on his shoulder before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was given emergency medical treatment while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer for the crime he committed.
