BUGUIAS, Benguet – A 27-year old farmer was hurt after he was repeatedly stabbed by a 19-year old farmer inside a videoke bar at Upper Abatan, here, Friday night.
Police authorities identified the victim as Davidson Elipane Tolida, 27, married, farmer and a resident of Magmagaling, Buyacaoan, Buguias, Benguet while the suspect was named as a certain Cyrus Mangsi Mangawa, 19, single, farmer and a resident of Lam-ayan, Monamon Sur, Bauko, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect was seated alone in one of the tables of the establishment when the victim asked permission to sit beside him while waiting for his song to be played.
However, the suspect got irked, drew his knife and stabbed the victim twice on his neck. The victim was able to evade the succeeding attacks and immediately went out of the establishment but the suspect followed him and repeatedly stabbed him on the different parts of his body before fleeing towards Upper Abatan.
The victim was rushed to the Bekes Emergency Hospital but he was later transferred to the Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital in Bauko, Mountain Province where he is now undergoing medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives in another building.
The suspect was brought to the Buguias Municipal Police Station for documentation awaiting the filing of frustrated homicide charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
