BALBALAN, Kalinga July 02 – A 28-year old farmer was injured after he was repeatedly shot on the different parts of his body by the arrested suspect inside the residence of his neighbor at Basao, Tawang, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Brent Majaco, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police office, identified the injured individual as Bernardo Dakutan Palttao, married, farmer and a resident of Sitio Bassao, barangay Tawang, Balbalan, Kalinga while he named the arrested suspect as Teddy Gumaboy.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was in Asiga, Pinukpuk, Kalinga when he received information that one of his neighbors wanted to kill him. When he went to verify the matter from a certain Marcelo Dangilan, the latter angrily answered him in an irritating manner then handed to the suspect the firearm used in the incident where he repeatedly fired at him.
The victim immediately went to his house to seek cover but he was followed by the suspect who was eventually pacified by his wife.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives for the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
