MANKAYAN, Benguet – A 31-year old jobless man died after he was stabbed on the left side of his body by his own brother during a heated altercation inside their residence at sitio Magangan, Guinaoang, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Oliver Matias Suyag, 31, single, jobless while the suspect was named as his own brother Nestor Matias Suyag, 35, married, farmer, and both native resident of Guinaoang, Mankayan, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the duo had an alleged heated altercation inside their residence when the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim once on his left chest with the use of a kitchen knife.
The victim was rushed by concerned neighbors to the Abatan-based Lutheran District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to a lone fatal stab wounds while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and now detained at the Mankayan Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
