RIZAL, Kalinga – A 34-year old was injured after he was allegedly shot by an ex-barangay captain right inside their residence at Kinama, here, Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Victor Wanchakan, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Rayman Saludares Fronda, 34, married, farmer and a resident of Kinama, Rizal, Kalinga while he named the suspect as Richard Dappas an ex-barangay Captain of Barangay San Pedro, Rizal, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was asleep when he heard that someone was knocking on the door.
When he went to open the same, he saw the suspect in possession of a short firearm who then fired at him hitting him on his left thigh before fleeing to an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed by concerned neighbors to the Juan Duyan Memorial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect is the subject of a manhunt operation.
