LA PAZ, Abra – A 51-year old farmer died after he was shot to death by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men along the river bank at Canan, here, Tuesday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Domingo Dela Cruz Alcantara, 51, single, farmer, and a resident of Sitio Alimudong, Brgy. Canan, Lapaz, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle en route to Pangal, Danglas town when two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men followed him and upon reaching the place of incident, fired at him several times until he was sprawled bloodied on the pavement.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
Responding police operatives and elements from the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene four spent shells of a calibre .45 pistol which was believed to have been used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
