ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao July 24 – A 22-year old farmer who was creating trouble and who fired at responding police operatives died after he was hit by a gunshot from law enforcers who responded to a call for help along the national highway at Sta. Maria, Saturday.
Police operatives identified the fatality as Orly Marania Salazar, 22, single, farmer and a resident of Sitio Payong, Barangay San Juan, Alfonso Lista Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed concerned citizens sought the assistance of law enforcers because of still unidentified armed men provoking trouble along the highway.
Upon reaching the area, some of the armed men attempted to flee the area on board a motorcycle and fired at the police operatives that prompted them to fire back hitting the victim on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment but he later expired while undergoing close medical supervision.
Recovered from the crime scene were a still undisclosed revolver with 4 live ammunitions believed to have been used by the fatality.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the concerned police operatives.
