LA PAZ, Abra – A 39-year old farmer was hurt after he was reportedly stabbed by a drunk farmer while on his way to his ricefield at barangay Bulbulala, here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Ernesto Barbosa Pagar, 39, while he named the suspect as Reynante Millare Figares, 29, both married, farmers and residents of barangay Bulbulala, La Paz, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on his way to his ricefield when the suspect, who was under the influence of liquor, allegedly stabbed him on his abdomen for still unknown reasons.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment and was later released after being given medical attention.
Responding police operatives were able to arrest the suspect and brought him to the La Paz Municipal Police Station for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges against him.
