TUBA, Benguet – A 19-year old farmer is now undergoing medical treatment in a Baguio-based hospital after he was stabbed by a still unidentified assailant in a waiting shed at sitio Kurba, Camp 3 here around 3 pm Thursday.
Senior Inspector Jim Hilario, chief of the Tuba Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Hernanie Madani Mamhi, 19, single, farmer, who temporarily lives at Camp 3, Tuba, Benguet but ahils from Wangwang, Tinoc, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that after the victim and a certain Eladio Dionisio finished their drinking session, they decided to go to a popular restaurant along Kennon Road to eat using his motorcycle.
Upon reaching the establishment, they found out that the establishment was closed prompting them to go back to where they came from.
While en route back home, the victim, who was driving the motorcycle reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing them to fall on the ground.
The victim and his companion decided to go to a nearby waiting shed where Lamhi took a nap while Dionisio left him for some time.
When he came back to the waiting shed to check the victim, Dionisio was surprised to see blood oozing from the victim’s body forcing him to rush the victim to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) where he underwent surgical procedures to treat his stab wound.
The case is still subject to investigation to ascertain the motive and identify the suspect behind the crime.
