ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – A 48-year old farmer was injured after he was repeatedly hacked with the use of a hand saw by his own son during a heated altercation that transpired in a drinking session at Banahaw, San Marcos, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Ronie Apigo Tabunan, 48 years old, married, farmer, and a resident of Banahaw, San Marcos, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao while the suspect was named as his own son Jeron Apilado Tabunan, 28 years old, married, farmer, and a resident of Daramuangan Sur, San Mateo, Isabela.
Initial police investigation showed the due, together with two companions, were having a drinking session when the younger family member became unruly that prompted his father to decide to report the matter to barangay officials.
While on his way to report the matter to their barangay officials, he was followed by the suspect who treacherously and deliberately hacked the victim using a hand saw that forced him to go back to their house and informed his live-in partner about the incident who eventually reported the matter to their barangay officials.
The victim was rushed to the nearest local hospital for medical treatment where he was later confined while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and recovered from his possession was the weapon used in the incident.
