City officials recently commended and congratulated the Federation of Parent-Teachers Association (FPTA) officers for school year 2023-2024 for their outstanding performance and exemplary contributions to the Baguio City Schools Division Office.
Under Resolution No. 589, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the city government recognizes and commends the outstanding performance and exemplary contributions of the FPTA officers as it brings pride and honor, not only to the Department of Education, but also to the city as a whole.
The FPTA is annually organized by the Department of Education – Schools Division Office with the prime objective of establishing and strengthening partnerships between parents and teachers, fostering an environment that supports the educational growth and well being of learners while addressing collaboratively the needs of both parents and educators within the school community.
The council claimed that in spite of the numerous challenges and obstacles encountered inside and outside of the school this academic year, the group with their commitment and dedication was able to ease and maintain an environment conducive for learning.
The FPTA officers for school year 2023-2024 are composed of Pablo Gomuad – chairman; Vicente Tadao – vice chairman; Marisciel Santiago – secretary; Caryl Mackie – assistant secretary; Grazel Yog-a – treasurer; Jennifer Pacis – collecting and disbursement officer; Maribel Jimenez – auditor; Carlo Bentayen and Robin Albert Reyes – business managers; Teofilo Lostreno – public information officer, and Angeline Gurion, Renee Accangan, Santi Butdoy, Ceasarlito Alim, Julio Trongco, and Daisy Gayagay – Board of Directors.
The council added that the city government continues to soar as the education center of the north not only because of competent graduates and professionals but also of responsive parents who are very much willing to assist in the development of the schools.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the FPTA officers for school year 2023-2024 for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
