City officials recently commended and congratulated the Fighto UC Jaguars judo team of the University of the Cordilleras for winning two gold, four silver and 3 bronze medals in the Hajime judo tournament.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the UCian community and the people and officialdom of the city are proud of the outstanding achievement of the team in a prestigious international competition.
Earlier, the UC Fighto Jaguars judo team competed in the Hajime judo tournament held on June 10-11, 2023 at the Blue Eagles gym, Ateneo de Manila University.
The Hajime judo tournament was participated by the various institutions compromising the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) that sent their respective teams and different judo clubs nationwide.
The council stipulated that having experienced playing with top caliber UAAP teams, the UC Jaguars Fighto judo team had one of the most rewarding experiences which would not be possible if not because of the rare opportunity given to the team along with their ever supportive coach, Corazon Alhido-Sacpa.
Copies of the resolution will be forwarded to the UC Jaguars Fighto judo team for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action.
