BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Agriculture-Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR) hosted the First Quarter Regional Livestock Program Assessment and Workshop on April 23 to 25, 2025, at the agency’s New Conference Hall in Guisad, Baguio City.
The three-day event brought together partners from the Provincial/City Veterinary Offices (PVO/CVO) from the six provinces in the region including Baguio City, and key representatives from the DA-CAR concerned offices, particularly the Livestock Program, Integrated Laboratories Division (ILD), Research Division, and Agricultural Programs Coordination Office (APCO).

Key discussions during the meeting included reviews of past assessments, provincial targets for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) compliance. The second day was dedicated to in-depth technical presentations on housing design for LEED 2025, construction accomplishments, and updates on previous years’ liquidations.
Significant agenda items also included the delineation of functions for the Livestock Program and the introduction of various guidelines including Amended LEED Guidelines and Artificial Insemination Incentive Guidelines.
On the final day, the FY 2026 Budget was presented along with a list of accredited farmers’ cooperative associations for livestock initiatives. Participants concluded the meeting by finalizing agreements and planning for future meetings.
