BARLIG, Mountain Province – Typhoon-affected barangays in Barlig received food relief packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the provincial government on August 24, 2023.
A total of 624 food relief packs were distributed to barangays Lingoy (72), Fiangtin (138), Latang (112), Gawana (222), and Macalana (80) and the household- beneficiaries received one box each at the Lingoy-Chatol Elementary School and Barangay Fiangtin in Barlig.
The turnover of the food relief packs was led by Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., together with Vice-Governor Francis O. Tauli and the DSWD-designated representative and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Social Worker Celine Day-ong.
Meanwhile, Barlig Municipal Information Officer Angelo Vicente representing Mayor Clark Ngaya and Councilor Edmund Sidchayao expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the DSWD and the provincial officials for personally delivering the assistance despite their hectic schedules. They also joined in the turnover and distribution of the food relief packs.
Moreover, Lacwasan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the municipal and barangay governments for the warm welcome, to the DSWD for the assistance, and personnel from the Office of the Governor, Executive Assistants, PSWDO, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Provincial Information Office staff for their assistance and support in the distribution of assistance.
