Residents and tourists who want to reconnect with nature will have a chance to do so within a 5,448.59-square meter portion of the Baguio Country Club (BCC) which was converted into a Flora and Fauna Park with numerous attractions to allow people to bring back their appreciation on the efforts to preserve and protect the environment.
The Flora and Fauna Park is part of the contribution of the only exclusive club in the city in providing additional nature attractions for residents and tourists for them to be able to unwind from their busy schedules at work or at home.
The park hosts a sanctuary of wild and endemic animals such as the brown layer chickens, some 29 pigeons, 3 deers named Luna, Magie and Rudolf, parrots, peacocks, Brahminy kite eagle among others that will be added to the attractions in the future.
Further, the park also has numerous flowers, orchids, a strawberry farm for people interested to conduct strawberry picking among others that will surely save the day for everyone.
However, BCC is still in the process of infusing additional attractions to the park to spice up the visit of residents and tourists wanting to relax in a suitable place in the city.
The park also hosts the proposal area where photoshoots and marriage proposals of soon to be couples had already been made.
Entrance fee to the BCC Flora and Fauna Park is P100 for members and P200 for the general public.
Earlier, BCC entered into an agreement with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the Flora and Fauna Park to serve as a haven for wild animals that will be turned over to the agency by concerned residents for the same to be taken care of by the Botanical and Zoology Department of the club.
BCC officials assured animal lovers that they will take care of the wild animals that will be turned over by the DENR as part of its contribution in ensuring wildlife protection not only in the city but also in the region.
