The Municipal Accounting Office of Flora has received national recognition after earning the PhALGA Excellence Award from the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PhALGA).
The award was formally conferred on May 20, 2025, during the 20th Annual National Conference of PhALGA held at the Iloilo Convention Center, where accounting professionals from Local Government Units (LGUs) in the country gathered to celebrate best practices in public financial administration.
Led by Municipal Accountant Benalyn De Jesus Pascua, the Flora accounting office was recognized for its compliance with national accounting standards, timely and accurate financial reporting, and for promoting transparency and accountability in local governance.
The PhALGA Excellence Award honors LGU accounting offices that demonstrate outstanding performance in financial stewardship and internal controls, as well as initiatives that contribute to efficient, transparent local government operations.
Flora Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan commended the team for the honor, emphasizing the broader impact of their work.
“This recognition is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our Municipal Accounting Office,” Mayor Juan said. “I commend their efforts in maintaining the highest standards of financial management, transparency, and accountability. This award is a testament to our LGU’s commitment to good governance,” LGU Flora Facebook post read.
The new feat highlights the office’s constant effort to modernize financial systems and deliver accurate and accountable reporting that supports efficient public service.
