Eduard “Landslide” Folayang put up a scintillating offense-filled performance to reclaim the vacant ONE world lightweight title while Brandon “The Truth” Vera finished his bout in abbreviated fashion to retain the ONE World Heavyweight championship on November 23, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Folayang scattered punches, elbows, knees and kicks to Amir Khan in a display of offense literally coming from all directions to win their title bout. He was dominant in this match that he virtually made Khan a target practice for his attacks.
He even caught Khan in the air and brought him down to the mat to underscore his dominance.
Folayang is now 21-6 with this win. He is a perfect 3-0 this year, taking out two previously unbeaten Russians earlier.
On the other hand, Vera needed just 1:04 minutes to finish Mauro Cerilli. A sneaky counter left hook unleashed by Vera found the chin of an attacking Cerilli dropped him hard to the canvass.
The referee stepped in to stop the fight even before Vera could follow up on his attack.
Vera raises his career record to 16-7, with 1 no contest.
With Folayang and Vera’s wins, the Philippines now has five ONE champions, counting Kevin Belingon, Joshua Pacio, and Geje Eustaquio who currently holds the Bantamweight, Strawweight, and Flyweight titles, respectively.
Folayang’s win also gave Team Lakay its fifth world champion, counting Stephen Loman, who successfully defended his Brave Combat Federation title just last week.

Meanwhile, Honorio Banario outlasted Rahul Raju, a late replacement; Jeremy Miado stopped Peng Xue Wen at the 35 second mark of the second round by a punch; and Rocky Bactol bowed Akihiro Fujisawa, losing by TKO due to elbows at the 4:40 mark of the third, to complete the performance of the Filipinos during the ONE Championship: Conquest of Champions event.
