BESAO, Mountain Province – The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-SWAD), in partnership with the provincial government through the Provincial Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC), delivered food packs for the evacuees of typhoon Kristine to this municipality on October 25, 2024.
The team was led by DSWD-SWAD Team Leader Carmencita L. Chaluyen, accompanied by Social Welfare Officer Victoria P. Tabora of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, DSWD Administrative Assistant Venus N. Changgalan and PDRRMO staff John O. Tayab and Drexzer B. Tacut.
The turnover was witnessed by Besao OIC-Municipal Welfare Development Officer Minda G. Dageo-a, OIC-Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Mildred A. Piluden, Besao Deputy Chief of Police PLt. Augusto P. Dawiguey, SFOIV Legaspi B Omaybas of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
According to Chaluyen, Mayor Bryne Bacwaden requested the food packs for evacuees affected by Tropical Storm Kristine.
Each family received two food packs each with the following distribution: 10 families from Barangay Catengan received 20 food packs, 16 families from Bgy. Bunga received 32 food packs and 16 families from Bgy. Banguitan receiving 16 food packs.
In addition, Tabora relayed the message of PDRRMC Chairperson Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. that the collaboration and partnership with various agencies is always the key in providing better security and services to the community. By Hail, MP
