BANGUED, Abra – The former municipal mayor of Langiden was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in his possession assorted illegal firearms and ammunitions and illegal drugs during the implementation of search warrants in his residence at Cabuloan, here, recently.
Superintendent Mark Pespes, officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested former local official as Noel Puddoc Castillo, of legal age, former municipal mayor of Langiden and a resident of Cabuloan, Bangued, Abra.
Confiscated from him by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Rafael F. Alzate of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 1 in Bangued were one Cal. 45 NORINCO with Serial Number BA25156; one Norinco Cal. 45 magazine; one Cal. 45. COLT with Serial Number 520810; one Colt 45 magazine; one Cal. 45 TAURUS with Serial Number NES 36662; 17 live ammunitions for Cal. 45; one TAURUS Cal. 45 magazine; one TAURUS Cal. 22 with Serial Number DNG04997; one TAURUS Cal. 22 magazine; one Homemade Cal. 22 revolver (serviceable); ten (10) live ammunition of Cal 22; 18 live ammunition for M16; one M16 magazine;oOne empty shell for Cal. 30 and two live ammunition for Cal 30.
Further, also seized from inside the residence of the arrested individual were one improvised smoke pipe; one broken beaker tooter; one improvised drug paraphernalia; three improvised tooter; four assorted lighters; one white plastic container with silver foils inside; one improvised tooter with tubes; one improvised burner; one digital weighing scale (black); one piece kitchen spoon; four pieces plastic and one container containing drug paraphernalia.
The arrested individual and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bangued Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
