ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – A 69-year old former vice mayor died after he allegedly fell from the top of a bus while travelling along the national road at Potia, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Mario Nalliw Henaggon, 69, married, Retired MLGOO, former Vice Mayor of Aguinaldo, Ifugao and resident of Galonogon, Aguinaldo Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim boarded an Aguinaldo-bound bus from Santiago City, Isabela and decided to ride on top of the vehicle.
While travelling along the highway, the victim did not notice a service wire from an electric post that was connected to a residence that allegedly cut through his neck causing him to fall on the ground banging his head and body on the concrete pavement.
The victim was rushed to the Potia District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple fatal head and body injuries.
The driver of the bus who was identified as Brent Mayaco Sacyong, 45, and the bus were brought to the Alfonso Lista Municipal Police Station for documentation and the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
