BONTOC, Mountain Province – Rescuers from concerned government agencies and the local government are now conducting search and rescue operations to locate a 13-year old girl who allegedly drown at a river in barangay Tococan here, today, May 24.
The victim, Veneizah ‘Kulasa’ Atiwag, 13, a student, together with her friends, went swimming in the river near the Tococan Elementary School and that she was last seen near the river bank before she went missing.



Various rescue teams were immediately deployed in three search areas along the river to expedite the efforts after a distress call was received by the Bontoc operations center at around 12:50 PM today.
Rescuers are hopeful that they will be able to immediately rescue the victim and spare her from danger. By Dexter A. See
