PINUKPUK, Kalinga May 14 – A 5-year old girld died after she allegedly drowned in a river at sitio Aggub, barangay Taggay, here, Sunday noon.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Lexy Savannah Gaayon Bayog, 5, and resident of Sitio Aggub, barangay Taggay, Pinukpuk, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and her companions decided to go to the Bannong River to take a bath.
After a few moments, her companions noticed that she was no longer in the area where they were swimming that prompted them to locate her whereabouts.
Incidentally, they were only able to locate her slippers and clothes on the river bank that prompted them to go home and report the matter to her parents.
Immediate search and rescue operations were conducted until her lifeless body was recovered in a 4-feet deep portion of the said river.
