TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 30-year gold buyer died after he was shot to death by two still unidentified gun-wielding individuals who barged into his establishment and attempted to take away valuable items at Bulanao, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Jon M. Cabbigat, 30, a gold buyer and a resident of Purok 5, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga
Probers disclosed that three still unidentified armed men allegedly went to the victim’s establishment where two of them went inside the second floor of the facility while one of them stayed outside to serve as a lookout.
While inside the establishment, one of the armed men immediately shot the victim that caused him to be sprawled bloodied on the floor. The armed men attempted to shoot the victim\s brother who was in the establishment at that time but the firearm reportedly jammed that caused them to immediately flee the area after the latter sought help from concerned citizens outside the establishment.
Responding police officers and bystanders immediately rushed the victim to the nearby hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival due to a fatal gunshot wound.
Manhunt operation has been launched by the Tabuk City Police Office against the suspects who fled on foot in separate directions from the crime scene.
Probers are still trying to establish whether the suspects were able to cart away valuable items from the establishment prior to fleeing the crime scene. By Dexter A. See
