LUNA, Apayao – The province of Apayao kicked off its month-long celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) on September 1, 2023 with various activities with special highlights on competitive events as means to encourage camaraderie, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyle and better work relationship.
Apayao is known for celebrating the Civil Service Anniversary with many activities, which has become a much anticipated event.
The sports competitions lined up include basketball, volleyball, table tennis and chess. There are also other activities like the Zumba and Battle of the bands.
7 clusters composing of various government agencies compete during the said period. Winners are awarded with recognition and cash prizes.
The groupings of agencies are as follows: Cluster 1; the red team, comprising the DPWH, RTC, PAO, PPO, MCTC, PAROLE and PROBATION, CSC, and LRA. Cluster 2; the gray team, included DENR, BFP, DAR, NCIP, DA-ROS, FNLGHTC, NFA, PCSO, TESDA, and PDOHO. Cluster 3; the yellow team, featured LGU-LUNA, NIA, PHIC, DSWD-SWAD, PHILPOST, CDH, BFAR, and BJMP. Cluster 4; the green team, consisted of PNP and SUPPORT UNIT, ASC, DILG, CDA, LTO, PSA, DOST, and DICT. Cluster 5; the purple team, incorporated DEPED, COMELEC, COA, DOLE, DTI, LBP, and OWWA. Cluster 6; the blue team, represented Capitol and Congress. Cluster 7; the camouflage team, is composed of the Philippine Army.
It is hoped that the sports events contribute to the aim of encouraging resilience in government employees as a crucial aspect of developing smart organizations and cultivating a forward-thinking civil service. By Krizza and Michelle
