BAGUIO CITY – The Land Registration Authority –Registry of Deeds in the city reported that it remitted more than PhP200 million representing registration fees of various transactions undertaken by the public with the agency last year.
In a report, the Registry of Deeds claimed that from this amount, PhP106.5 million was remitted to the national coffers while PhP94.3 million was collected by the City Treasury Office from the various transactions done in the agency.
The highest number of transactions entertained by the office were requests for certified true copies of documents kept and recorded totaling 12,112 requests but only 12,083 were actually recorded. Incomplete or unverified information in some requests left the rest to be unrecorded.
It added there were also 6,631 transactions involving registered lands but only 5,919 requests for records were requested from the office.
Further, some 3,695 transactions involving chattel mortgage were made last year but only 3,429 requests were actually recorded in the said office.
On the other hand, there were also some 401 transactions involving unregistered lands that were received by the Registry of Deeds but only 392 were actually recorded.
The Registry of Deeds also received some 48 requests for registration of personal properties but only 44 requests for similarly recorded.
Moreover, some 193 free patents were received and issued by the said office last year.
