BAGUIO CITY – A 16-year old Grade 8 student of the Baguio city National High School (BCNHS) died after he was punched and stabbed by still unidentified assailants in the vicinity of the San Luis jeepney terminal along Chugum Street, here, Saturday night/
Police authorities identified the victim as Marvin Martinez Alcantara, 16, Grade 8 student of the Baguio City National High School (BCNHS), and a resident of #131 Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, together with his girlfriend and some other colleagues, accompanied a companion to the said jeepney terminal for her to go home and while waiting for the arrival of a passenger jeepney, the still unidentified suspects, who came from Kayang Street, suddenly arrived and punched the victim on his chest and allegedly manhandled him until he fell on the ground.
His girlfriend tried to intervene but she was shoved by the suspects up to the extent that she was shoved that prompted her to shout for help from concerned passers-by.
The suspects immediately scampered for safety towards Abanao Square while the victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC0 for medical treatment but he later died due to hypovolemic shock type IV, secondary to stab wound.
The suspects are now the subject of a manhunt by responding police operatives who are now getting the testimonies for their identification and subsequent arrest.
