SM City Baguio will be hosting the Grandparents’ Day from September 2- 8. The celebration is a series of events dedicated for our grandparents and to showcase our appreciation for them.

Grandparents can start enjoying their day shopping and dining in SM with upcoming grand deals they can avail from participating stores and restaurants. The promos will be up until September 8.

Mall-goers can even shop gifts for their beloved grandparents from the Grand Bazaar in partnership with the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA). The event will be on the mall atrium from September 2 – 5.

For our grandparents who enjoy exercising, SM is going to host the National Grand Fit Fest on September 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the mall atrium. The activity will have Zumba and aerobics sessions.

There will also be a Lola, Lolo, & Me Dance Challenge on September 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the mall atrium. Grandparent/s and their grandkid/s can compete by performing a modern, pop, or hip hop dance number. The maximum time limit for the performance is 3 minutes.

The judges will decide the winners based on the criteria: 20 percent for originality, 30% for stage presence, and 50 percent for audience impact.

Grandparents must be at least 60 years old and above to join. There is no age limit for grandkids and no maximum number of grandchildren allowed to dance with their grandparent.

The winners will receive the following SM gift certificates: 1st place – 5,000 Pesos, 2nd place – 3,000 Pesos, 3rd place – 2,000 Pesos, 4th and 5th Place – 1,000 Pesos.

For contestants that are below the age of 17, they are required to give a waiver form signed by their parent/s or legal guardian/s. Cutoff for registration forms are on September 7 at 6:00 p.m.

If you want something more relaxing, there will also be an online game called the Amazing Lola Race where you can win gift certificates. Posters around the mall will have a QR code that you can scan and play with your mobile phone. The game is accessible on September 4-8.
