On Friday, January 7, 2022, the Tabuk city government, through the Office for the City Agricultural Services (OFCAS), inducted the newly formed Greenhills Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and its officers.
Greenhills, Bulanao is renowned as one of Tabuk’s most diversified communities, with residents hailing from Rizal, Lubuagan, and, most notably, Taluctoc, Tanudan, and, according to the OFCAS Officer, the formation of the RIC will bring together the many tribes to work together for the development of their society.
Pacita Ballongay, president of the RIC, praised the city government for their early support of the organization and credited her members for starting to work even before they were inducted.
President Rosa B Tao-Wag, Secretary Conchita M Bawagan, Treasurer Jovy Malondon, Auditor Josefa Blanco, Press Relations Officer Carmencita Gulingan And Remedios Malondon, Business Managers Elizabeth Lumingis, Conchita Banggowoy, And Madona Wandagan were the newly inducted officers.
Acting-Vice Mayor Zorayda Mia Wacnang complimented the newly seated officers on a good induction event, as well as the RIC in general. She believes that the first year of an organization’s existence is one of the most difficult since it determines whether the business will be able to grow or not.
In order to be a successful community organization, Wacnang recommended the union to take on three challenges. The first challenge is to organize your goal in such a way that it will encourage more members to join; the second is to think of a program that is for the good and improvement of your community rather than for self-interest; and the third is to consider being transparent because it is one way, among others, to gain your members’ trust.
“Dakayo iti katulungan ti CLGU ta dakayo iti pundasyon iti ili tayo. Dakayo iti mangkita iti problema ken anyaman nga mabalin nga programa nga mangpasayaat iti komunidad tayo. Manen, congratulations kanyayo nga officers ken iti miembros iti Greenhills RIC. Sapay kuma ta agballigi ken aglaylayon daytoy nga organisasyon,” Wacnang added.
Councilor Eduardo Sacayle was also present to show his support, as did Henry Gupaal, who represented the office of City Mayor Darwin Estrañero. By Rio Dongcayan Bassong
