BAGUIO CITY – A security guard of an exclusive club in the Summer Capital is now in stable condition in a hospital after he accidentally pulled the trigger of his service firearm inflicting injuries on his left foot at the guard house of the Baguio Country Club (BCC) along Ilosorio Drive here Monday afternoon.
Police authorities identified the victim as Jerry Ramirez, of legal age, a security guard and a resident of Outlook Drive, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was on duty inside the Baguio Country Club (BCC) guard house when he tried to stand up from his post with his hand on his service firearm when he accidentally pulled the trigger causing it to fire with the bullet hitting him on his left foot.
He was immediately rushed by his companions to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment where he was pronounced to be in good and stable condition.
Responding police operatives and elements of the scene of the crime operation (SOCO) team recovered a spent shell of a calibre .9mm pistol in the crime scene which was believed to have come from the service firearm of the victim.
