TUBA, Benguet – A 15-year old truck helper died after he fell from the back of a truck and was rammed over by the same vehicle in the sharp curve along Marcos highway at sitio Bayacasn, Taloy Sur, here, Sunday afternoon.
Police authorities identified the fatality as a certain John Mark, 15, single, truck helper and a resident of Loakan, Baguio city.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his companions rode on the back of the elf truck driven by Mark John Aten-an Alba, 20, single, driver, native and resident of Sitio Bayacsan, Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet and that he was said to be under the influence of liquor and kept waiving his two hands in the air.
Upon reaching the sharp curve of the road, the victim allegedly lost his balance in his handling the side portion of the truck that caused him to fall on the driver’s side and was accidentally rammed over by the rear portion of the wheel.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the responding police operatives.
