BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) recorded a generally peaceful observance of Holy Week from April 13 to 19, 2025, with no major untoward incident reported across the city. Nonetheless, law enforcement authorities intensified operations to ensure the continued safety and security of the public.
Records of the Baguio City Police Office show that multiple police-initiated operations were conducted during the week, resulting in several arrests. These included, enforcement of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and implementation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
In addition, the BCPO implemented checkpoint operations at City’s boundaries in line with COMELEC Resolution No. 11067. These checkpoints served as a critical deterrent against the transport of illegal items, enforce regulations and monitor movement.
These operations highlight BCPO’s unwavering commitment to public safety and the rule of law, ensuring that law violators are held accountable while the public observed the Holy Week in solemnity and peace.
City Director PCol. Ruel D. Tagel lauded the dedication of all personnel involved, stating, “While the public celebrated the season in reflection, our personnel remained vigilant and proactive in keeping the city safe.”
