BAGUIO CITY – A 42-year old housewife was hurt after she was repeatedly stabbed by his own father-in-law inside the Camia cottage, DPWH Compound, Engineer’s Hill here around 3 pm Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, officer-in-charge of the Baguio |City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Bernadette Codes So, 42, married and a resident of the aforesaid place while the suspect was named as Roger Cayetano So, 76, separated, also a resident of the same address.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was sleeping inside her room when she felt someone jabbing the left side of her body. When she turned around, she saw her father-in-law about to stab her, thus, she tried to evade the knife-wielding man and sought the assistance of their neighbors.
The suspect was able to be pacified by their neighbors but he kept threatening the victim that he will kill her for still unknown rasons.
Responding police personnel were able to arrest the suspect while the victim was rushed by concerned citizens to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) where she is undergoing medical treatment for the wounds that she sustained.
A case of attempted murder is being readied against the suspect who is now temporarily detained at the BCPO Station No. 3 holding area.
