BAGUIO CITY – A 20-year old hotel and restaurant management student died after he jumped from a four-storey building at the Old site, SLU-SVP Housing Project here Tuesday night.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Bryan Angelo Macaraeg Gonzales, 20, single, HRM student at University of Baguio and a resident at Old Site, SLU-SVP Housing, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was able to gain access to the fourth floor of the structure by climbing the steel fence in front of the house, then made his way on the roof using the water tank ladder before going to the rear portion of the structure before jumping and falling to the ground.
He was immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he later expired due to severe brain injury.
It was learned by probers from family members that the members of his family were able to notice slashes on the victims hands the past week after he reportedly drunk trumpet flower and was brought to the BGHMC psychiatric department but he was later released.
Probers added the victim had two suicide attempts in the past but he was prevented by family members who were able to pacify him from jumping from their house.
