BONTOC, Mountain Province – Local Government Unit (LGU) Officials and Department Heads attended the community consultation for the Health System Resilience Project (HRSP) which commenced on June 4, 2024, at the Multipurpose Hall, Bontoc Mountain Province.
This initiative which marks a significant step towards enhancing the local healthcare system is a collaborative effort between the local government, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Word Bank Organization.
Development Management Officer IV Madelyn Tudlong from the DOH-Provincial Office presented the project which focuses on providing infrastructure and equipment for public laboratories, as well as training programs for Emergency Surveillance Units (ESUs) and Emergency Response Teams (ERTs).
The project includes a funding of approximately P12 million pesos from the World Bank, which will be utilized for the construction of a Super Health Center to serve municipalities with populations over 20,000. These municipalities include Bontoc, Paracelis, Tadian, Bauko, and Sagada.
The event was also attended by other municipal officials, healthcare professionals, and various stakeholders who contributed their insights and suggestions to help shape a more resilient healthcare framework. By Shannon Anthea S. Pagaduan
