BALBALAN, Kalinga – The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights Community Based Dialogue Cordillera Core Group launched the human rights forum in Kalinga recently.
“No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law, nor shall any person be denied the equal protection of the laws” states Article III of the Bill of Rights.
Armed with this cause, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) together with the members of the Philippine Army aimed to educate the small communities in Kalinga with the municipality of Pasil as pilot area.
Starting this November 8-11, they will be conducting their activity with the title “Human Rights Forum” for the local governments and community representatives of the Barangays Guinaang, Galdang, and Bagtayan in Pasil, Kalinga facilitated by the CHR Core group, and representatives from civil society organizations such as the Tebtebba and Igorota.
The facilitators led by Director Romel Daguimol of Commission on Human Rights along with the PNP, AFP, Tebtebba, and Igorota representatives visited the office of the Governor to seek his presence on the event’s opening day.
