TUBA, Benguet – A 50-year old man was hurt after he was allegedly hacked by his wife at the height of their reported heated argument in their house at Lumecneng, Nangalisan here around 8 pm Monday.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the victim as Dionisio Cotaran Potectan, 50, married, while she named the suspect as his wife, Mia Cupasan, 40, both residents of the above-stated place.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had a heated altercation inside their residence when the suspect was able to get hold of a bolo which she used to hack the victim on his head.
Responding relatives and police operatives immediately rushed the victim to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while they were able to turn over the suspect to the Tuba Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
The suspect stands to face appropriate charges to be filed by the police against here before the Benguet provincial prosecutor’s office.
