LAGAWE, Ifugao – The Ifugao Global Entrepreneurs Multi-purpose Cooperative (IGEMCO) continues to make waves in the provincial and regional cooperative movement as it was able to sustain robust growth not only in the expansion of its members but also in the proper utilization and upliftment of its assets.
Godfrey Dominong, IGEMCO general manager, said the good news for all the over 3,800 members of the fastest growing cooperative in the province is that management was able to facilitate the increase in its assets from P39.34 million in 2013 to a whooping P62.6 million at the end of 2014.
“Our banking services was the one instrumental in significantly increasing our assets. WE are grateful to the robust growth of the construction industry because it was the one that helped sustain the increase of our banking services,” Dominong stressed.
IGEMCO, which will be holding its 21st annual general assembly Suday, March 8, is offering services ranging from financial intermediation, Construction and Engineering works, Health and Social Work Program, Education, Agriculture, Hunting & forestry, Manufacturing Program, Fishing Program, Wholesale & Retail Program, Business Consultancy, Real Estate, Renting & Business Activities, Hotel and Restaurant and Community Based Rural Tourism.
Dominong said IGEMCO aims to build a resilient community by providing its members with sufficient access to its basic programs and services that will improve their way of life through the spirit of cooperativism.
He said the cooperative pans to establish service centers in the eleven municipalities of the province in order to contribute in the growth of businesses as well as the upliftment of the living condition of the members through the assistance coming from the cooperative once members are qualified to avail of such services.
Dominong stipulated IGEMCO was envisioned by its founders to be a cooperative that is self-reliant, service-oriented, dynamic, globally competitive, owned and managed by competent, God fearing committed officers, management staff and members with a high sense of social responsibility in order to attain an ecologically balanced environment, sustained economic and cultural growth in the global community.
In order to realize the aforesaid vision, the cooperative plans to maintain enough capitalization in order to sustain the financing needs of members who are engaged in micro, cottage, small and medium enterprise and to develop global entrepreneurs; to provide total quality management service and diversified programs and services that would address the other needs of members and people in the community; to maintain an efficient, effective and committed professional staff and officers who will be responsible in the business operation of our cooperative; to provide continuous education to members through provision of orientation, seminars and trainings; to maintain a high profile (Officers & Employees) and serve as model in the cooperative community and to internalize principle of cooperativism as a way of life.
Among the benefits derived by the members include availment of financial services, interest on share capital, patronage refund, rebates, incentives, business opportunities, increase in economic status, mutual and providential assistance, information and education trainings, government and social assistance.
