BAGUIO CITY – School officials, parents, teachers and the community have expressed readiness to perform their respective duties and responsibilities during the week-long Brigada Eskwela at the Irisan National High School (INHS) starting Monday.
Principal Romulo M. Flora of INHS presided over a meeting of the INHS School Governing Council and stakeholders to plan for Brigada Eskwela 2015. In line with the theme ” Tayo para sa Kalinisan, Kaligtasan, at Kahandaan ng ating mga paaralan,” various committees were formed to oversee activities for the Brigada that also coincides with the start of enrolment for SY 2015-16.
Present during the meeting held on May 12, 2015 at the AV room of INHS were personnel from the Irisan Bureau of Fire Dept, Police Station 9 and representatives from the Alumni, the business sector, the academe and other civic organizations. In attendance too were the General PTA officers, head teachers including non-teaching staff and the Sangguniang Barangay of Irisan. The officers of the Supreme Student Government of INHS were also present since it is expected that they play a major role in the conduct of the Brigada.
It was announced during the meeting by Principal Flora that projects such as the construction of a four storey building from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and another building for automotive classes from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will commence in order to boost the readiness of the school in time for the start of senior high school next year.
Barangay Irisan will also provide an initial P 100,000.00 for the proposed student center with the PTA and alumni pledging to support said project in order to realize the put up of the noble project that will cater to the needs of students, especially in providing adequate space for student activities.
While the Brigada is a continuing activity of INHS, a formal launching program will be held jointly with the EQES (Elpidio Quirino Elem School) on May 18, 2015 to be held at the covered court of the elementary school. Invited to grace the program are Councilors Fred Bagbagen and Joel Alangsab of Baguio City.
