ITOGON, Benguet – The municipal government recently recognized the Itogon Suyoc Resources, Inc. (ISRI) for the company’s significant contribution in suppressing various fire incidents in the different parts of the municipality throughout the year.
The certificate of appreciation signed by Mayor Bernard S. Waclin was handed over to ISRI officials in simple rites held at the municipal hall recently.
ISRI firefighters and volunteers joined other groups in fire suppression operations at sitio Cruz, barangay Ampucao last May 10, 2024 and another structural fire at sitio Jappah, barangay Virac last October 21, 2024.
Further, the company also joined in suppressing the forest fire at sitio Manga, barangay Tuding last February 12, 2024.
The local government pointed out that ISRI demonstrated exceptional dedication and made significant contributions in response to these fire incidents in the different parts of the municipality.
Earlier, the Benguet provincial government recognized ISRI for being one of the top 20 taxpayers in the province.
Gov. Melchor Diclas handed over the certificate of recognition to ISRI resident manager Engr. Robert Wagtingan and head of administration and legal lawyer Florelyn Munoz during the Gong Award for Business Achievement and Yield (GABAY) which was one of the activities that highlighted this year’s celebration of the province’s 124th founding anniversary and Adivay festival.
The series of recognitions conferred to ISRI is just a testament of the company’s active participation in numerous activities to extend assistance to the people in its host and neighboring communities as part of its commitment to responsible mining.
Further, ISRI is committed in providing its host and neighboring communities with the necessary assistance to contribute in the realization of socio-economic activities, environmental preservation and protection, disaster risk reduction and management, delivery of quality health care services, support to livelihood initiatives, among others.
