ITOGON, Benguet – The delivery of quality health care services and the conduct of efficient emergency response in this town got a big boost following the delivery of two additional brand-new ambulances to the municipal government by donor companies recently.
Earlier, the municipal government received from donors three ambulances that initially bolstered the delivery of health care services and the conduct of emergency response during human-induced and natural calamities and emergency situations in the different parts of the municipality.
Mayor Bernard S. Waclin said that the two additional ambulances came from the Philex Mining Corporation and the Alpha Land Company that will augment the earlier donations to greatly contribute in providing and facilitating timely patient transport.
“One of our priority thrusts is to ensure the delivery of quality health care services and improve the conduct of emergency response and our municipality is lucky to have been provided with the ambulances by these donors who believe in our cause. We certainly are grateful to the benevolence of our corporate citizens who put premium in sustaining their commitment to enhance the delivery of quality health care services to our residents,” May9or Waclin stressed.
The earlier three ambulances donated to the municipality came from the Metro Church of God International (MCGI), the San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and these are now being used to respond to emergency situations and facilitate the effective patient transport to the various health facilities inside and outside the municipality.
According to him, the sixth ambulance that will be donated to the municipality will come from the SN Aboitiz Power–Benguet which will definitely be used to further contribute in ensuring the timely patient transport and emergency response in various remote communities of the municipality.
The municipal chief executive claimed that some of the ambulances are stationed at the Itogon dialysis center in Malasin, Ucab to ferry the dialysis patients in compliance with the earlier commitment for free transportation from and to their residence when they need dialysis treatment at the facility.
Itogon hosts some large-scale mining companies, hydroelectric power plants, property developers, among others, that serve as the local government’s partners in improving the delivery of basic services to the people.
Mayor Waclin assured the residents that the municipal government will continue partnering with concerned government agencies and the private sector to enhance the delivery of basic services for the municipality’s constituents.
Concerned barangay officials and residents lauded the ongoing efforts of the municipal government under the leadership of Mayor Waclin in further improving the delivery of basic services to them. By Dexter A. See
