ITOGON, Benguet – A jobless man died after he was stabbed to death by a drinking partner inside the residence of his cousin at Induyas, Upper Mangga, here, Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Dean Martin Tinong Alvester of legal age, single, jobless and presently residing at Upper Mangga, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet while he named the suspect as Ronald Contrillas Adriano, 31, single, miner, a native of Balungao Pangasinan and a resident at Upper Mangga, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to the house of his cousin in the place of incident to join his relatives and the suspects in a drinking session.
After a few moments, the suspect and the victim were involved in a heated altercation until the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect was collared by his relatives and was turned over to the responding elements of the Itogon Municipal Police Station.
The suspect is now facing homicide charges to be filed before the provincial prosecutor’s office anytime.
