BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Provincial Government of Mountain Province inaugurated and turned over the access road to Maregreg, Mainit High School, to the barangay on January 28, 2025.
The ribbon-cutting was led by Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)- Mountain Province Evelyn B. Trinidad, Vice Gov. Francis O. Tauli and Mainit Punong Barangay Rocky Saguiyod while the blessing was officiated by Fr. Jonathan Apil. Also present as witnesses were Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr.’s representative, Wabilyn M. Lomong-oy, Board Members Ezra Samson A. Gomez and Ricardo Masidong, Jr., Provincial Administrator John K. Likigan, Provincial Government department heads, other DILG Mountain Province and Provincial Government personnel and barangay officials and residents of the place.
According to Provincial Engineer Edward B. Likigan, the worth 4-million-peso project is a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2023 incentive fund from the DILG to the Provincial Government.
In his message, Governor Lacwasan thanked the DILG for funding the project and for recognizing the Provincial Government’s dedication to good governance. He credited the SGLG award and the successful implementation of the project to the collective efforts and dedication of the different officials and offices of the Provincial Government.
Director Trinidad said that the SGLG award and the SGLG incentive project are an implication of the Provincial Government’s commitment to delivering quality services. She urged the barangay officials and the residents of the place to help in the road’s maintenance.
The message of Congressman Dalog was conveyed by Lomong-oy, highlighting the continuous efforts of the government in implementing development projects.
Moreover, Vice Governor Tauli said the residents of the barangay are lucky to receive the blessing from the government and also encouraged them to help in the maintenance of the road.
Board Members Gomez and Masidong highlighted the importance of the access road to the students and residents of the place.
Meanwhile, Punong Barangay Saguiyod thanked the DILG and the different officials and the implementing units of the Provincial Government for choosing their place as the recipient of the project. By ESB
