City officials commended and congratulated the Baguio City judo athletes who emerged victorious during the Muntinlupa Invitational Cup last November 12-13, 2022 held at the Muntinlupa Coliseum.
In a resolution, city legislators stated that it is with great pride and joy that the people and officialdom of the city confer the commendation to the Baguio-based judo athletes who proudly represented the city during the Muntinlupa Invitational Cup.
Earlier, several Baguio-based Judo athletes actively participated in the Muntinlupa Invitational Cup on November 12-13, 2022 held at the Muntinlupa Coliseum.
Further, the Baguio delegates snatched 7 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Among the Baguio-based judo athletes who emerged victorious during the said competition include Natalie Gaspar – gold medalist in the 57-kilogram girls cadet 13-15 years old category; Jan Samuel Dino – gold medalist in the 42-kilogram boys cadet 10-12 years old category; Mark David Calingayon – gold medalist in the 46-kilogram boys cadet 10-12 years old category; Juan Gael Javier Alberto VII – gold medalist in the 73-kilobram boys 13-15 years old category and silver medalist in the 73-kilogram men’s all-white category; Skyler Martin – gold medalist in the 52 and 57-kilogram women’s open belt category; Jammil Bien Lorenzo – gold medalist in the 60-kilogram men’s open belt category; Women’s team – tournament gold; Mikeighla Louise de Vera – silver medalist in the 57-kilogram girls cadet 13-15 years old category; Aljen Josh Colintas – silver medalist in the 46-kilogram boys cadet 10-12 years old category; Alexyz Aeon Allan – silver medalist in the 55-kilogram boys cadet 13-15 years old; Aeon Lance Kim – silver medalist in the 73-kilogram men]s all-white category; Mark Francis Quirimit – silver medalist in the 60kilogram men’s open belt; Mack Jhiro Calingayon – silver medalist in the 100-kilogram men’s open belt and bronze medalist in the 100-kilogram men’s all-white; Megan Jane dela Pena – bronze medalist in the 57-kilogram women’s all-white; Rhenzo Wryxter Apilado – bronze medalist in the 46-kilogram cadets 10-12 years old category; Leerenz Tindaan – bronze medalist in the 100-kilogram men’s open belt and men’s team – tournament bronze medalist.
The council stipulated that the outstanding performances of the judo athletes with the supervision of their coaches and support from their families have portrayed unquestionable discipline and sports excellence perfected through years of training and dedication that serve as inspirations for the whole country and are worthy of emulation to the people of the nation and to the city, especially to the youth.
