TABUK CITY, Kalinga, (PIA) – – Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand Tubban has issued Executive Order No, 2015-08 declaring June 24 as non-working holiday and June 24-26 as non-school days in the entire city in celebration of its 14th Matagoan Festival and 8th founding anniversary.
Said order aims to ensure attendance of all concerned to the week-long festivities, a tradition embraced by the local government unit to celebrate simultaneously the twin events and requiring the participation of the different sectors, academe, non-government organizations, peoples’ organizations, and line agencies.
The cityhood of Tabuk was ratified on June 24, 2007 and its founding anniversary thereafter is being celebrated showcasing diversified culture and traditions of the people, dances and songs, indigenous games, and exhibits of local products.
A “Dornat” (warming up) of the “Bodong” (peacepact) between Biga and Lubo subtribes will also highlight the celebration in support to the peace and order programs of the local government unit carried out by the Matagoan Bodong Consultative Council.
