LUNA, Apayao – Barangay Badduat in Kabugao, Apayao celebrated its “Coconut Festival” on May 7, 2024, which drew attendance of provincial and municipal officials as well as employees and visitors.
Said barangay is one of several areas in the province that cultivate coconut trees and produce coconut products and by-products.
Duting the event, the barangay was also given PhP150,000 worth of barangay aid. PhP100,000 came from the provincial government, while PhP50,000 came from the personal pocket of Board Member Kyle Mariah Chelsea Bulut-Cunan.
In her remarks, Bult-Cunan conveyed her respect and appreciation for LnB President Frederick Amid’s unwavering passion for public service and his support to activities for the betterment of the province.
The legislator also underlined the significance of the coconut tree as the “tree of life,” drawing comparisons between it and the province’s and Badduat’s governance, which, when well-maintained, functions well as a unit.
Bulut-Cunan reaffirmed that the provincial government has programs to assist the people of Apayao under the leadership of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang and Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr.
Following the Badduat Coconut Festival, the legislator personally delivered sporting equipment and tables to the yApayaos in Badduat.
Furthermore, the members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan held their regular session in the said barangay, where they discussed issues and approved some resolutions. By Krizza Joy Castillo
