BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Kailyan Renal Care, Inc. has officially opened its dialysis center in Bontoc on April 2, 2025, located on the second floor of CMV Building, Loc-ong, Poblacion, Bontoc.

Among the guests were representatives from PhilHealth, the Office of the Congressman, the Office of the Provincial Governor, the Provincial Health Office, the Bontoc Municipal Mayor’s Office, the Vice-Mayor’s Office, Bontoc General Hospital, and Luis Hora Hospital.
President and radiologist of the dialysis center Dr Mariel Kapla-an Valencia, Dr Joel Bongotan, together with Board Member Joshua B. Fronda, Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr., Vice Mayor Eusebio Kabluyen, and Juanita Lampac from the Provincial Health Office, led the ribbon cutting.
In his message, Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., who was represented by Board Member Joshua B. Fronda, reiterated the provincial government’s continued support for the health center’s efforts.
“On behalf of Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to support any services that the provincial government can provide to assist the health center,” Board Member Fronda said.
Meanwhile, Joshua B. Fronda, the Provincial Committee Chair on Health, Sanitation, and Social Services, emphasized the importance of the new facility and expressed his appreciation.
“We thank you for inviting us to this significant occasion. As you know, not all dialysis needs can be met by the Provincial Health Office, and this health center will be a great asset for our people in Mountain Province. It will alleviate the burden on patients who need to travel far for dialysis treatment, and it ensures that high-quality services are available,” Fronda stated.
Moreover, Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong and the Vice Mayor acknowledged the Local Government partners and expressed their insights during the program.
“We signed a memorandum of agreement with the Bontoc municipal government so that for the use of our ambulances and transportation of dialysis patients, all of us have to be aggressive. Let us be aggressive not only to our families but to all people,” Mayor Tudlong said.
Meanwhile, Jose Safawil from PhilHealth underscored the importance of the presence of local government officials and representatives and expressed his appreciation for the better use of our “kailyan”.
Furthermore, Dr. Mariel Kapla-an Valencerina shared how the dialysis center was made possible and expressed her gratitude.
“It was a challenge for us; it wasn’t easy for us; we really asked the help of our parents,” she said.
“With regards to our partners, I’m very thankful, especially to the Bontoc municipal government, for the partnership. Thank you so much; with the license to operate, we bring our service to our kailyan,” she added. By MP-PIO
