TABUK CITY, Kalinga -The more than 1 hour heavy down pour did not distell the effort of the province to establish to records that landed in the Guinness Book World of Records. Male gong players and female pot dancers set the record for the largest gong ensemble and the largest pot dance, respectively during the Awong Chi Gangsa, Agtu’n Chi Banga held at the Kalinga Sports Complex, this afternoon.
Guinness World Record adjudicator Kazuyushi Kirimura declared that the number of male gong players with barcodes reached 3,440 setting the new record for the largest gong ensemble played simultaneously. The record to beat for the largest gong ensemble is 150.
On the other hand, the 4,681 female pot dancers also made in to the Guinness Book World of Record for being the largest pot dance. The largest to beat for the pot dance is 250. By: Nicko Gatchalian and Darryl Valdez
